Getting ready for Christmas

Hello fellow bloggers, I am sure we are all in a similar boat as Christmas is drawing near we are all trying to make as many Christmas cards as we can. I am in an even bigger rush as my sister and I are participating in a craft fayre at the Botanical Gardens in Birmingham in November and I am trying to make as many cards as I can to sell. I recently purchased some stampin up products from the stampin up party my sister held so today I have been trying to make cards with them. Have a look and let me know what you think.

What A Great Day

I thought I would up-date my blog today as I have had a great day at my sisters stampin up party. It was the first time she has hosted one of these events and it was great (and very expensive) As it is her birthday today she decided to have a stampin up party to celebrate so she invited myself and a couple of her friends to attend. We made a card and a christmas box with some lovely papers which I will take a photo of and upload soon so you can all see. I really struggled at the end of the session when we were looking through the catalogues at what to buy. There was so much to chose from it was very difficult but I managed to chose a couple of stamps and papers and card and different inks which hopefully should be delivered towards the end of the week. It is very exciting and I look forward to going to one or hosting one soon. I think I will need to save up some money first though. Ha Ha Ha.

An excuse to make cards

Hello everyone. It has been ages since I have been on my blog as I have been quite busy.I have been on a couple of holidays as well as working a lot of shifts at work which has meant that I have not only had time to make cards but I haven't been able to update my blog. However on Saturday I had a little accident whilst pegging the washing out, which has resulted in me breaking my foot. After visiting the hospital on a couple of occassions over the weekend they have since put me in plaster and informed me that I have to wear this for 4 weeks and have 6 weeks off work. Therefore I now have a great opportunity to make loads of cards ready for the Christmas fayre which myself and my sister are doing in November. I have already been purchasing craft goodies off the internet to get me back into card making as I think I was losing my mojo. However all is good as yesterday whilst resting my foot I stamped some images and coloured them in with my copic markers. Today I think I might do a few more and even have a go using my new nestabilities. I will keep you up to date with my progress. Speak to you soon.

A long time away!!!!

Oh my, it has been such a long time since I updated my blog (nearly a month)so I thought I should write something to let you all know that I am still here. I havent been making many cards lately even though I had a lot of card goodies for my birthday. What with the lovely weather we did have I didn't want to be in doors so my card making was on hold for a bit. I have decided to make some cards tonight but unfortunatley haven't got round to it yet as I have been surfing the craft websites for even more things to buy. I have tried to be good girl and not buy too much as I should really use what I have. If I get round to making some I shall put the pictures on tomorrow. Watch this space. x

A wet but very enjoyable birthday!

Hooray, it was my birthday yesterday and I had a lot of lovely presents off everyone; so I would like to thank everyone for what they bought me. I had a lot of exciting craft goodies off my sister Sarah and I had a cuttlebug and some other bits and pieces off my husband. I think with the money I was given I might invest in some embossing folders or some nestabilities as my sister makes some very nice cards with hers. I was very impressed with the card I had off my sister (she even matched the colours she used on the card with the wrapping paper) Myself and some of my family went out to the Black Country Museum last night as it was a special one-off opening. We did have a good time, however we did get a little bit wet as you can see from the photos I took. Overall I enjoyed it and I hope everyone else did too. I will soon get making some cards with the stuff I have been given so watch this space. x

An Awful Lot of May Babies

May is a very busy month in my family for birthdays so I have been making a lot of birthday cards for my in-laws as it is their birthday in the next couple of weeks. My husband asked me to make one for his dad, his aunt and one for his brothers girlfriend. I still have to make a couple for my cousin's as it will soon be their birthday too. I am just thankful that he my husband didn't ask me to make my own birthday card as I will be turning 24 on Saturday. I wonder what craft goodies he has bought me. How exciting!!!

A long time away

Well it has been ages since I last updated my blog, what with working nights and then catching up on jobs I haven't had time to do much. In the last week I have managed to make three cards which my friend asked me to make for her. It was a bit of a challenge to make a couple of them as she asked me to make a new baby card and a wedding card; both of which I had nothing for, so it was a good excuse to pop to a new craft shop I had found and spend some money. I quite enjoyed making the new baby card as it was different to any normal card which you might be able to see from the photos. Luckily my sister was able to help me out with the wedding card as she has plenty of wedding stamps and papers. Talking about my sister many of you who visit her blog might be aware that she has been having a tough time lately what with the bad news about George and the fact that she has been ill herself. I would like to take this opportunity to let her know that we are all her thinking of her, George and Anthony and I send her all the love in the world. I don't know where I would be without my big sister. Here are some pictures of George a few days after his operation. I think you will all agree he looks remarkably well after his big ordeal. Get well soon George. xx

Easter Madness

I have decided its about time to make some more Easter cards as it is only a week away. I had a look at the different layouts on the various websites and thought I would give them a go. I had a lovely time this afternoon trying them all out, I even got my hubby involved as I was asking him if the papers I had picked went together. I am enjoying my new copic markers however I think it was a bit of a mistake purchasing the set of 72 as I now have too much choice and it takes me twice as long to pick which colour I want to use. I might not get chance to update my blog for a while as I am going to be on nights at work this week, so I would like to wish everyone a Happy Easter. Don't eat too much chocolate. x

Magnolia stamps or Copic Markers (Or both!!!)

Well it has been a very expensive week for crafting. I have decided to purchase some more magnolia stamps and a set of copic markers. I have now decided to hold off making anymore cards until my copic markers are delivered. I am so excited about them. My sister has also ordered some so we have decided to order different sets which means that between us we have the whole collection. If you haven't come across them yet you don't know what you are missing out on; they are brilliant and make you cards look completely different. Here are a couple of cards I made earlier on in the week. I will let you know when my copics are delivered so watch this space. Happy crafting.

Addicted!!!

After going to the NEC last week with my sister and her friend and buying lots of fantastic stuff, I am afraid to say I have two new addictions; Magnolia stamps and Copic markers (both go very well together.) It has got to the stage where I am searching the internet to get good deals on both the stamps and the pens. If anybody knows anywhere where you get a good buy please let me know. I even dreamed about the markers last night (how sad is that.) Here are some cards I made with the stamps and markers. Hope you like them. x
